Fundraising
Fundraising
The Group is an integral part of the community that it serves, both providing help to the community and receiving support from the community to carry out its work with young people.
Scout Groups, are entirely self-financing. A Membership Subscription is payable by all Members of The Association to meet local and national support costs. The way that these costs are met are by the Section asking Members to pay regular subscriptions, to meet some of the costs and through regular fundraising.
Subs are £120 a year, payable in 12 equal instalments of £10 per month. Subs must be paid in the first 7 days* of the month, via Online Scout Manager.
Fundraising is an important part of the Group’s activity as money will be necessary for:
- initial purchase, maintenance and repair of equipment for camping and expeditions
- events and activities
- leader training
- administration and insurance cover
*we wouldn’t want finance to be a barrier to any child wanting to join our Scout Group. If your child is keen to join and you are worried about finances, please contact finance@beaconscoutgroup.org.uk. We can discuss alternative payment plans and/or methods.
